Relationships are Like Horses

As a horse owner I have to ask, why is it that we spend hundreds of dollars and hours of time trying to figure out how to live peacefully with our horse – videos, clinics, trainers, private lessons, dozens of books and audio tapes – but our relationships are well less than ideal?

Have we given up on trying to figure out our partner? Do we wish we could just trade them in on one that is a better match? We do that with horses, right? No, divorce, no trauma, no losing the house and children – just a new horse, better suited to our needs. Well the fact is we can’t so….

Why not look at our relationships with all that horse training in mind. We’ve read the books, listened to the trainers. Why not take some of that knowledge and make it work for us? Follow my blog and see if you don’t agree. This is not a male/female issue. Sometimes you are the horse, sometimes the rider, sometimes the observer. Try it, let’s see. Tell me what you think.
